INDONESIA MENGAJAR Part I (Intro)

Now, I want to share about my experience applying one of prestigious programs; Indonesia Mengajar. This program was conducted by Anies Baswedan in 2010; the main aim of it is spreading out the educational opportunity across Indonesia by sending young teachers. These young teachers will have an opportunity to teach in a year program duration. Within the duration the young teachers expected not only to teach but they have to learn as well from the society, students, and nature.

I have been familiar with Indonesia Mengajar since it was first published in 2010, Mba Pipit (Pengajar Muda 1st Batch and my senior in Youth Exchange) told me about it. It strictly triggered me to apply and join the program, unfortunately I didn’t graduate at that time so I have to skip Indonesia Mengajar 1st batch.
Time goes by, a year after that I tried to apply again in 3rd batch and I tried to write the essay, in the middle of it I felt so stuck, I couldn’t write anymore until finally the registration was closed. I skipped again.

In the early 2012, I moved to Banjarmasin, South Borneo to get a job. For about 2 years I worked there and putted Indonesia Menagajar aside, until I made a decision to resign from my job. I used this moment as a turning back, I searched information about Indonesia Mengajar again, and thank god there’s an information said that the registration for Indonesia Mengajar VIII was open. Finally, I wrote the essays safe and sound until I clicked “SUBMIT”. Ok it’s time to wait for the announcement, WISH ME LUCK!!!
